Frosty sunned himself at theRainbow Bridge. Would this be the day she came? He wondered, sitting up on his haunches. He had been here a long time but still remembered the day he met a lady who became his best friend.
He was very small, maybe three months old. He didn’t remember that but the day he went for a walk and couldn’t find his way home was still with him. He walked around a big building until he found a window he could look into. On the other side of the glass was a chubby man who looked friendly. Frosty began batting at the window with his little paw. Meow, meow----EEEow! That got his attention—Frosty watched the man turn to him. But nothing happened. Now the tiny silver gray striped kitten was frightened. What would happen to him? Frantic, he pawed faster on the glass. The man stood and walked away. No! Meow. He hung his little head. What will I do?
Frosty heard something behind him. He turned and a large hand gathered him up.
“Hey, little guy. You look lost.”
It was the same man. “You’re okay. We’ll find out where you belong.” Holding him gently, the man carried him through a door and into a room where a woman sat at a desk. “Look what I found.” Dennis held the kitten out. “He must be lost. Here,” he sat the kitten on her desk. “Watch him until lunch break and I know where I will take him.”
“I can’t keep a cat here! This is the Court Office.”
“Sure you can. It’s only an hour.” Dennis laughed and scratched the kitten’s head. “You be good. I’ll be back soon.”
Well, the kitten managed to charm the secretary and all was well when Dennis came to retrieve him. “Okay, how do you feel about riding in a car?” He asked the kitten.
Being so much smaller, Frosty thought he didn’t have much choice. He hoped it would be better than his day had been so far.
A short ride took them to another place, which Frosty learned later was an office. They went in.
“I’ve got someone I want you to meet,” Dennis said to the woman at a desk.
Puzzled, she looked at him, then behind him. “Who…oh, no, Dennis.” She exclaimed as he reached into his jacket pocket. “I told you I don’t want a cat.”
He placed the tiny, shivering bundle on her desk.
Frosty looked up with his beautiful eyes. “Oh please. I need a home.” that little face seemed to say. He and the lady watched Dennis go out and come back, his arms loaded with a litter box, litter, and a bag full of kitten food and toys.
The woman picked him up. “What can I say?” She nuzzled his furry head. “You look like a Frosty to me.”
Thus began fifteen human years of love and devotion between Frosty and his best friend.

I recently adopted a little stray. For the first three days we had her all she did was eat and sleep, but on the fourth day she revealed herself to us. Instead of the little lap cat we anticipated, she was a ball of energy and fire. She still is.

It only takes a look to convince how loving a kitten is.

Sooooo sweet! Both the kitty and the story. I'm glad Frosty worked his way inside Patricia's heart. I can see why.
