Doggy Tales -- Some Days Things Go Your Way

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 1:00 AM

When you're not an only dog, some days things can get complicated...

You might find yourself being the under dog.

Or you might have to resort to castaways to use as pacifiers...

But then again, there are some days when things just go your way. The others take notice...

Like, for instance, an old stump of wood...

Though one or two might show curiosity...

Their attitude immediately becomes (upon learning it's NOT food)...

Then, it's finders keepers!!!

A boy needs to win once in a while. Otherwise, it's back to...

!!!Whatever!!!!

Great post! I have two dogs who don't always get along. It's actually surprising when I catch them being nice to one another. Like kids, I praise them for being good. ")

My oldest dog probably vaguely remembers when he was an only dog. Maybe. Ah, those were the days!

Dogs are such fun. I have two dogs and my oldest probably remembers being the only one and getting all the attention. Although they get along pretty well, but the oldest has quit playing ball with us - a game he loved. Just can't seem to motivate him to play anymore. He does play well with the newer dog tho.

Adorable! Wonderful the way you gave these poochies a voice, love it. Especially the fascination with a stump. Gotta love how dogs keep things uncomplicated and appreciate the basic joys of life! Thanks for brightening my day.

I liked the pictures. We have two chocolate labs, mother and son, and life for them would be very different if they didn't have each other to play with. When one of our dogs died and left the other one alone several years back, it was so sad because the one who was left behind completely freaked out and we had to get her a companion.

Leading a dog's life isn't always easy, but it looks like these pooches have it figured out.

Cute pics.

Only dogs do get lonesome, though, especially if their folks can't spend a lot of time with 'em. But sometimes it's hard on people with having more than one! LOL

Thanks so much for coming over! :)

I know what you mean. Our oldest is the black lab mix and she used to race around the yard for the sheer fun of it, and she played frisbee with us. Now she neither runs, nor is interested in the frisbee. *sigh* It's sad. She'll be 9 this June.

Thx so much for coming over and commenting! :)

You're right, Regina. They are SO uncomplicated and don't take themselves seriously at all. People need to learn how to live life as they do! :)

Thank you for stopping by today. :)

Hi Patti,
I know what you mean. The black lab mix (shown in this post) was an only dog for her first 3 years, and she was so lonely. We got a companion for her and they were great together. But, sadly, Dolly passed away last January, and now the lab, though the other two small dogs are here, do not give her the same "togetherness" as Dolly. We know she still grieves -- hey, so do I!

Thanks for coming by today. :)
